Self Publishing

It’s day 11 of The Girl In Between blog tour! Check out all the latest reviews and giveaways as well as links to where you can download a copy of The Girl In Between for FREE!

Ali over at My Guilty Obsession posted a spotlight for The Girl In Between along with an international giveaway for The Boy In Her Dreams. Ali has helped me with promo in the past and she’s so incredibly generous. She’s such a huge help to indie authors and her readers are really interactive and I’ve had so much fun stalking her comments section this week and hearing about all of the people willing to give the freebie a try!

Amber from Paradise of Pages posted a FIVE STAR review of The Girl In Between this week! One of the greatest and most satisfying things that people have been saying about this story is how much it caught them off guard and how unique it is compared to other stories in the paranormal genre. I’m so thrilled that the concept and the characters are resonating with people. Amber was even gracious enough to offer to read and review the sequel! Check out her blog to read her review and an excerpt from one of my favorite scenes in the entire series!

Tricia is a fellow indie author who also runs a promo site called Authors To Watch. A huge thanks to her for taking the time to put together a promo spot for The Girl In Between! She’s actually helped me with promo a few times in the past and her site is one of the few that is open to helping any and all indie authors and there are no stipulations when it comes to asking for help. But if you already follow Tricia’s author blog which is chock-full of indie insight, inspiration, and advice then you already know how generous of spirit she is.

Ashley at Wholly Books is the next blogger to host a special spotlight of The Girl In Between. She shared an excerpt along with an interview in which I discuss my favorite books, what I hope readers will take away from my stories, and an incredibly random/slightly disturbing memory from my childhood that probably actually explains a lot.

Sarah from Words with Sarah posted the latest review of The Girl In Between and I was so pleasantly surprised by her reaction! Not only did she give the book another 5 stars but she was also a fan of the intense focus on Bryn’s illness. This is a paranormal story but more than that it’s about a girl who just wants to find a cure for her illness and be normal for the first time in her life. In the early stages of this story when I was still struggling with genre so many people told me to focus less on Bryn’s illness and her day-to-day struggle with it but I knew that spending the extra time on that very human aspect oft the story would make it stand out among the paranormal genre. I’m just so glad that Bryn’s personal struggle with her illness is really resonating with reviewers and am really grateful that Sarah pointed it out in her review. Check out her blog for more of her thoughts as well as an excerpt from the first book!

Carrie from Yeah Books! shared a spotlight for The Girl In Between as well along with an excerpt from the novel. They’re a fellow wordpress blog and huge supporters of indie authors so I’m really excited to be introduced to their readership!

A huge thanks goes to all of these incredible bloggers for participating in the tour! Anyone still interested in an indie spotlight swap and/or review feel free to send me an email at lzkbooks[at[gmail[.]com

Jessica posted an awesome book spotlight featuring The Girl In Between on her blog today along with an interview in which I answer questions about growing up in West Texas, my favorite candy, and the moment I first knew that I wanted to be an author.

Sandra over at Jeanz Book Read N Review posted an amazing series spotlight over on her blog featuring the first two books in The Girl In Between series along with an interview in which I answer questions about my upcoming projects and how long it usually takes me to write a novel start to finish.

Serenity over at Lovely Reads is the next blogger to review The Girl In Between and once again I was so pleasantly surprised by her thoughts on the story. Serenity was also kind enough to post an interview along with her review in which I answer questions about the inspiration behind The Girl In Between, my affections for my main character, Bryn, and the most difficult scene to write of the entire novel.

Mel from the Writing Room was also so generous to post a book spotlight featuring The Girl In Between. FYI, this blog is a great resource for writers, especially indie authors. Not only do they provide promo opportunities but it’s an amazing place for artists interested in collaborations. The site offers daily prompts as well as unique content for readers looking to connect with authors.

A huge thanks goes to all of these incredible bloggers for participating in the tour! Anyone still interested in an indie spotlight swap and/or review feel free to send me an email at lzkbooks[at[gmail[.]com

Call To Indie Authors!

Self Publishing

The blog tour for The Girl In Between series starts in just three weeks (EEK!) and I’m offering Indie Author Spotlights every Sunday throughout the tour in an effort to share the wealth! If you’re interested in swapping spotlights please send me an email at lzkbooks[at]gmail[.]com. I’m pasting my original “Call To Bloggers” post below in case anyone needs more information on the tour.

The blog tour for The Girl In Between series officially starts on November 1st and runs through the end of December. If anyone is interested in hosting a giveaway, book spotlight, author interview, or posting a review in exchange for a spotlight on my blog, please keep reading!

The Girl In Between is already available for purchase and the second book in the series, The Boy In Her Dreams, will be released at the end of this month on October 31st. The third book in the series will be released by EOY as well. I have Smashwords coupon codes available and am looking to give away a TON of copies so please contact me if you think your blog readers would be interested. I know a lot of my fellow indies like to swap spotlights and may have other memes or features available, so if anyone is interested I LOVE conducting interviews and am planning on featuring every indie author who participates in the tour.

If you have a new release or even just an old release that you’d like some exposure for, or even if you’re unpublished and would just like some exposure for your blog, I’ll be posting spotlights every Friday throughout the tour to an audience of almost 1,000 followers. Each spotlight will include a brief interview and whatever other promo you provide. FYI the last time I ran a blog tour for my novel Breathing Ghosts, my stats were exponentially higher and I was getting almost 100 views a day. That may sound like small beans to some of you with more successful blogs but if anyone else out there is struggling with getting traffic, a spotlight during my blog tour could provide some decent exposure. Also, if you’re just looking to score some new content for your blog, maybe on a day you don’t have time to prepare something, I’m open to writing guest posts or any other content you can think of.

If anyone is interested in review copies I have The Girl In Between and The Boy In Her Dreams available in MOBI, EPUB, and PDF files. Send me an email at lzkbooks[at]gmail[.]com if you’d like to post a review during the tour or even if you’re busy and would like to post one after. My goal is to get at least ten reviews on Amazon by the end of the month so I can potentially experiment with some promo sites like Bookbub, and then relay my results here on the blog of course.

If after reading all of this anyone is interested in participating in the tour, drop a comment here with your email address or shoot me an email at lzkbooks[at]gmail[.]com ! I appreciate everyone who took the time to read this post! Thank you all for your support!

Blurb & Cover Reveal For The Boy In Her Dreams

Self Publishing

The Girl In Between was published on September 30th and it’s already time to reveal the cover and blurb for book two in the series, The Boy In Her Dreams! When I made the decision to write all of the books in this series consecutively I was thinking about two things, one being consistency since this was my foray into series writing and two was my hope that releasing the books closer together would help me gain the kind of magic momentum that has been the key to every indie success story out there. Now my plan is slowly coming together and the next phase is about to commence!

TheBoyInHerDreams1600x2400When Roman wakes from a six month coma, the first thing he sees is the girl of his dreams. Except Bryn isn’t confined to the dream-state anymore and neither is he. He’s awake and alive and as the memories of how he and Bryn fell in love come rushing back, so do the memories of why he’s lying in that hospital bed in the first place.

Plagued by guilt, Roman makes a decision that alters both their fates and as Bryn fights for her life in a German hospital, Roman must fight for her forgiveness before it’s too late. Because Roman and Bryn weren’t the only things to wake out of Bryn’s dreams. The shadows seem to be hunting them both and a strange side effect of Roman’s miraculous recovery may be the only means of stopping them. That is, if he can reach Bryn before she slips too deeply into the very dreams that seem to be imposing more and more on their waking lives every day.

Blurb & Cover Reveal For The Girl In Between

Self Publishing

It’s been almost a year since I published my last novel and the time has FINALLY come to share the blurb and cover for my next novel, the first in an upcoming series! I started this novel in April of 2013 and the journey to its completion as been full of so many twists and turns. Originally it was meant to be a standalone with hints of magical realism and today it’s the first of a four book paranormal series. I’m in the midst of editing the third draft of the third book in the series and if this experience has taught me anything it’s to go with the flow. Not only did this story evolve into something I totally didn’t expect but this being my foray into series writing, I never could have anticipated how difficult it would be. It’s been a long time since I shared something new with my readers and it’s definitely terrifying but I can honestly say that I am really excited about this new project and can’t wait for people to read it!

TGIB-WPBryn Reyes is a real life sleeping beauty. Afflicted with Klein-Levin Syndrome, she suffers episodes of prolonged sleep that steal weeks, and sometimes even months, from her life. But unlike most KLS patients, she doesn’t spend each episode in a catatonic state or wake up with no recollection of the time she’s missed. Instead, Bryn spends half her life in an alternate reality made up of her memories. For Bryn, the past is a place, until one day a boy she’s never met before washes up on the illusory beach of her dreams with no memory of who he is.

But the appearance of this strange boy isn’t the only thing that’s changed. Bryn’s symptoms are worsening, her body weakening as she’s plagued by hallucinations even while awake. Her only hope of finding a cure is to undergo experimental treatment created by a German specialist. But when Dr. Banz reveals that he knows more about her strange symptoms than he originally let on, Bryn learns that the boy in her head might actually be the key to understanding what’s happening to her, and worse, that if she doesn’t find out his identity before it’s too late, they both may not survive.
